British International School Ho Chi Minh City (BIS HCMC) - Early Years & Infant Campus
Introduction
About British International School Ho Chi Minh City
The British International School Ho Chi Minh City (BIS HCMC) is widely regarded as Vietnam's top British private school and one of the highest-ranking International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) institutions globally.
Founded in August 1997 by Maurice and Rosie Nguyen, the school began as a small pre-school called Tiny Tots, operating out of a renovated villa in District 1. The couple's initial goal was to create a British-style education center for their daughter, Jenny. It quickly became the city's most popular pre-school for both international and Vietnamese families.
Since those early days, BIS HCMC has expanded into a full-fledged institution, offering a holistic learning environment for students aged 2 to 18. The school's first group of sixth-form graduates went on to university in 2006.
In March 2015, BIS HCMC joined the Nord Anglia Education network, which has provided students and staff with significant advantages. These benefits include access to leading educational technology, award-winning teacher training, and exclusive collaborations with renowned organizations like The Juilliard School, MIT, and UNICEF.
Today, BIS HCMC serves more than 2,300 students from 55 different countries across three purpose-built campuses—Early Years and Infant, Junior, and Secondary—in the vibrant Thao Dien area. The school is known for providing a well-rounded education that emphasizes academic excellence alongside personal, social, and emotional development.
Strengths
In the school's holistic learning environment, there's truly no limit to what students can achieve. The world-class teachers build their resilience and courage, nurture their unique strengths and passions, and ensure they succeed academically. All students, from early years through to sixth form, follow a carefully curated blend of English and international curricula. This includes IGCSEs and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), which are recognized globally as the gold standard in education and provide clear pathways to outstanding higher education institutions worldwide. The remarkable results achieved by the students unlock a world of possibilities, including admission to some of the world's most prestigious universities. In 2024, over 50% of the school's graduates were accepted by a top 100 university globally. These include leading institutions like Harvard University and UCLA in the United States, the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London in the UK, Korean University and Seoul National University in South Korea, as well as the National University of Singapore, the University of Toronto, The University of Sydney, and the University of Amsterdam.
